We were recently appointed by Moody Direct Ltd, a manufacturer of machinery for the food and beverage industry, to provide IT consultancy services to enable them to successfully migrate from from Dynamics AX2012 on Premise to Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance and Supply Chain Management.
Although a third-party partner undertook the technology implementation, Essenkay was brought on board as a neutral third party, having had a long-standing relationship with Moody Direct Ltd to sit in a project management capacity and streamline communication between the organisations, ensure the transition ran smoothly, and ensure the employees felt confident using the software moving forward.
Specifically, the legacy system had been in place for over ten years, so our core objective was to expedite the company from ageing servers that were starting to struggle with the amount of data they were processing, and move to the cloud. The existing software was also no longer supported by Microsoft so it would remove another element of risk the business had by remaining on its legacy software.
The overall cloud transformation project had three main aims:
Our training and support was developed in line with these objectives and to ensure employees had the confidence to use the new cloud technology to its full potential and reap rewards for the business.
During our cloud technology support for Moody Direct, we provided virtual and onsite face-to-face training before the launch of the new cloud software to ensure the team was prepared and to answer any questions about the new software.
Following the implementation of the new Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance and Supply Chain Management system, we provided full onsite support for all business areas to help aid the transition, as employees were very comfortable with the legacy system. The project ran for approximately 12 months, with Essenkay’s training and support sessions spanning five months.
Overall, the team responded well during the training. We helped reinforce the learnings through repeat sessions to ensure they were ready to use the system in business as usual.
Following pre and post-implementation cloud technology support rounds, we were pleased to see that the team successfully understood and retained their training. As some of the system's core elements were familiar to the legacy system, we were able to build upon their existing knowledge to make it easier for them to navigate as they moved into adoption in their day-to-day tasks.
Our Microsoft Dynamics 365 support and training met its top three aims as the team at Moody Direct Ltd is now confident in using a cloud-based system which will enhance cybersecurity and data protection compared to the previous ageing infrastructure.
In addition, while the new software implementation provided the business with the basis for an evergreen solution that can be expanded to meet additional requirements as the business grows, our support will help Moody Direct Ltd to understand any new solution changes and how to benefit from them.
Our cloud technology training also helps the team work more flexibly as they are now more confident in independently using the software from home or in a co-working space. Cloud computing significantly benefits efficiency and productivity, but only when used consistently and correctly by employees.
Moving forward, we will continue to be a supporting arm for Moody Direct Ltd whenever they require any assistance or improvements to the software.
