We are delighted to share that our co-owners, Simon and Kendall Langdown, will participate in the Wickersley 10K, raising money for the Children’s Hospital Charity, in Sheffield.
Sheffield Children's NHS Foundation Trust is a Sheffield-based specialist children’s hospital, which provides the best possible care for children all over Yorkshire, the UK and beyond. It is one of only three dedicated children’s hospital trusts in the country, and its services include community and mental health care and acute and specialist services.
The Children’s Hospital Charity supports the hospital by funding new facilities and creating an environment with children in mind. Working together, they equip doctors and nurses with the resources they need, when they need them, to provide the best possible patient care. The hospital treats every condition imaginable, providing specialist services for muscle and bone, neurosciences and clinical genetics.
Simon and Kendall will be taking part in the 10K run on Sunday, the 16th of March, setting off at 9:30 am. The road-based course will start at Wickersley School, and take our co-owners through the streets of Wickersley, towards Brampton, they will then turn around again and climb their way back up the closed road circuit to finish at Wickersley School.
Kendall commented on their participation in the event:
“Training has been hard going for the team, myself in particular. We have blended treadmill running with road running and only increasing leading up to the big day. As we are from the local area and I attended Wickersley Comprehensive personally, I could not think of a better way to support my local community in their fundraising efforts. Both Simon and I have utilised the facilities of the children's hospital with all 4 of our children and we are forever grateful for the services they provide, we are just so pleased that we can now provide support for them.”
